KhakiBush established in 2005 origianly intended as an adventure tour operation evolved into an outdoor lifestyle digital media and publication business that promotes adventure, travel, conservation, and community upliftment. We achieve this through our FREE monthly digital magazine, digital comic books, adventure trips, travel directory and gear guide! Whether you're a non-profit organisation, hotel, safari lodge, outdoor gear provider, vehicle dealership, or tour guide, we are here to support your businesses growth.

Our mission is to inspire and educate locals to explore their own vast outdoor landscapes while also encouraging them to travel beyond their borders and oceans for a fresh perspective on life. We strive to make a positive impact on people, wildlife, and the environment, fostering a collective sense of responsibility.

Supported by a dynamic and creative team of outdoorsmen, adventurers, misfits and digital marketing specialists, KhakiBush is committed to making a difference through engaging outdoor adventures.
ABOUT US

Craig Mitchell
Founder, editor, writer, and designer. Self named African Red-neck. A weekend surfer, fisherman, adventure guide, and paddleboarder who lives for the thrill of the outdoors. Obsessed with braaiing and camping, always choosing the open sky over the confines of a tent.

Sine Ngwenya
She speaks fluent Photoshop and paints with pixels, but her true masterpiece is an audible one. You'll know a great idea has struck when you hear a quiet giggle escape. It’s her tell-tale sign that a stroke of genius (or a top-tier funny meme) has just landed in her brain.

Carla Geyser
Humanitarian, conservationist, and expedition leader, the self-appointed World President of the Blue Sky Society, dedicated to bringing happiness to everyone. When not in the African bush she is dealing with the misfits and maps at KhakiBush HQ, plotting epic adventures.

Paul Smith
Travel Directory manager and non-award winning journalist with a knack for spinning irrelevant stories that’ll reel you in faster than a bass on a lazy afternoon. An avid fisherman, videographer and self-proclaimed braai master, currently navigating the transition from typewriters to digital tech whilst downloading corrupted files.

Tim Smythe
Creator of The Khaki Tales comic book, believes the best way to save wildlife is with a pencil in one hand and a beer in the other. When he’s not sketching conservation heroes, he dabbles in guiding and forestry—though he’s most dedicated to perfecting the art of the braai.

Zama Zikhali
She’s the team's official heart and brains, living at the intersection of shrewd strategy and human-centered soul. Her mission is to ensure their work is not only effective but also deeply authentic, putting a real community at the center of every plan. Think of her as the guardian of the "why."

Branden Meintjes
A former diving instructor and game ranger, he's part-fish, part-leopard, and KhakiBush's resident matchmaker for the outdoors. With a camera always ready, he connects gutsy brands with real explorers. He lives by a simple motto: if the gear, grub, or gravel roads aren’t tough enough for him, they aren’t good enough for our readers. Let him help you frame your next great story.

Carmin Naidoo
She’s the digital ranger for KhakiBush, translating the soul of the brand for the wilds of the internet. As the strategic mind behind the screen, she wrangles everything from Meta ad campaigns to email expeditions, ensuring every piece of the story is engaging and true. She’s the reason the brand’s digital campfire always burns bright, with every action rooted in purpose and guided by strategy.

Tevin Muthusamy
His passion is building paths that people actually enjoy following. On weekends, that means scouting the best hiking routes through the kloofs and hills of KwaZulu-Natal. On weekdays, it means he’s the digital trail-builder for KhakiBush, obsessively clearing the way so users never feel like they need a map and compass just to navigate the website. His goal is simple: make every journey, on-screen or off-road, a pleasure, not a puzzle.
