Join us on an unforgettable adventure to the Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Game Reserve, located in the heart of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. We'll pick you up from your hotel and take you on an incredible journey through the reserve's beautiful landscapes and diverse wildlife. The tour is available all year round and lasts approximately 14/15 hours, with return to your hotel in the late evening. Please note that the tour is subject to cancellation in the event of serious weather conditions.

Included in the tour are the following:

• Entrance fees to the Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Game Reserve

• Continental breakfast.

• Transportation in an air-conditioned and enclosed 4x4 vehicle

• Services of a knowledgeable and qualified field/tour guide

• Complimentary refreshments, such as tea, coffee, rusks, and bottled water (throughout the day)

• Access to several shops along the route and within the reserve to purchase additional snacks and souvenirs.

Excluded in the tour are the following:

• Our tours are exclusive to a single group, and we do not cater to multiple groups in a vehicle.

• Lunch and beverages (not listed above) are not included in the tour price and will be at your own expense.

• Safari guide gratuity not included in the fees

 

We will depart from your hotel at 5am and arrive at the Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Game Reserve at around 7:30/45 am. After a short drive, we will stop for a breakfast picnic while enjoying tea and coffee. We will continue our journey on dirt tracks, visting hides and view points, camps, cultural shops and will reach the main lodge for lunch (for your own expense) around 12 pm. The tour will continue in the afternoon, where we will search for animals during the cooler part of the day when they are more active. We will leave the reserve at 4.30/5pm and return to your hotel at approximately 7/8pm. We will have multiple bathroom breaks available for guests during the day to ensure maximum comfort.

We recommend bringing sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera to capture the stunning wildlife and scenery. It is essential to bring closed, comfortable walking shoes, a jacket or jumper and a hat to protect you from the sun. We advise bringing cash for lunch and snacks as credit card facilities may be limited due to load shedding. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities.

Get ready for an unforgettable wildlife experience! During the tour, we'll be on the lookout for a variety of animals, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, black rhino, and buffalo), as well as other animals such as kudu, wildebeest, giraffe, wild dog, hyena,white rhino, zebra, impala nyala and many more mammal species. With over 90 mammal species and over 400 bird species, the iMfolozi-Hluhluwe Game Reserve offers a fantastic opportunity for animal lovers and birdwatchers alike. You can disimbark the vehicle in designated areas on instruction from your guide to gain a different perspective of the wildlife and ecology. Please note that while the tour is not physically strenuous, you will be spending a significant amount of time in a vehicle. The trip will be approxomitely 14/15 hours.

​We proudly use our Land Rover Defender 110 Puma (George), which seats up to 6 guests. For the best comfort, especially for taller or larger guests, we recommend that if their are guests in your group with specific space needs...WE MUST LIMIT THE NUMBER OF GUESTS ACCORDINGLY. The rear seats are able to comfortably accommodate the smallest guests under 1.75m.
